TAMID at Penn: New Member Experience

  |   Chapters

By Elizabeth Roberts and Paige Moelis

As incoming students to the University of Pennsylvania, we were interested in finding a place where we could explore the business world while creating strong personal networks. We wanted a community that challenged us, but also inspired us to expand ourselves. We considered multiple clubs, but we found that they all lacked the strong entrepreneurial spirit and tight-knit community that TAMID provides.

As new members of TAMID, we were welcomed with open arms and immediately encouraged to contribute as though we had been members for years. Through TAMID’s education program and speaker series, we have been given so many opportunities to explore the Israeli startup culture from various perspectives. TAMID has become a home to us; we are surrounded by like-minded passionate individuals who constantly desire to make an impact. It is a community that welcomes mistakes because it views them as opportunities for self-improvement. It is refreshing to be a part of a community that combines both social and business endeavors.

TAMID lays the groundwork to develop strong interpersonal relationships at Penn and beyond. Elizabeth was so inspired during one of the Speaker Series by a Vice President from the Venture Capital Firm OurCrowd, that following his talk she approached him to inquire about summer internship opportunities. TAMID’s speaker event landed Elizabeth an internship this summer at the OurCrowd New York Office where she will be working for the business development team in North America. When we think of TAMID, we think of an organization that will impact our Penn experience over the next four years. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this organization and are excited to help shape that future!
