Event Planning

Beta Chapters are required to host events every semester

Please submit the Event Record form for each event throughout the semester
This semester, each chapter must host one social event, and one professional development event. At least one of the events must be Israel-related.

Professional Development Workshop

Workshops are a great opportunity to learn and advance professional skills needed for finding internships and jobs, among other things. Some examples include: a resume workshop, an interview prep workshop or a LinkedIn workshop.

Professional Development Speaker

TAMID has a wide network of alumni who work in a variety of fields, live in different areas, and take part in a number of impactful initiatives. Using the speaker request form, please request a speaker in advance for your event. The speaker does not have to be a TAMID alumnus and can also be an outside contact, a cold call, or even a professor from your university. These events can either take place in-person or virtually.

Social Event

These events should have required attendance for all executive and general board members. It is not recommended that the social events be opened up to anyone since these events are more focused on inter-club bonding. In some instances, it might be appropriate to allow 1-2 guests if they are interested in joining TAMID. Some examples include: laser tag, bowling, escape room, trivia night, etc.

Creating an Event Planning Committee

Leadership Opportunity

As a means to both open up additional leadership opportunities and decrease the workload required of the executive board, the chapter can choose to assemble event committees for these events. These committees can consist of students, either selected on a volunteer or application basis, to assist with planning, directing, organizing, and executing the event.

Encourage Involvement

If a member has an idea or event they want to see happen, they can propose it and then spearhead the process themselves. This encourages your members to take the initiative through positive reinforcement.

Share the Responsibility

Make sure that your committees are prepared for whatever level of responsibility you entrust them with. If a committee is entirely responsible for an event, as the executive board it is still on you to keep up with them and make sure that plans for the event are on track. Anything put on in association with the TAMID name will be associated with the chapter as a whole.
