TAMID at Queens College: Year One
By: Michelle Bello
As the first year of TAMID Group at Queens College approaches an end, we can’t help but reflect on the community we’ve become, the goals we met, and the personal development each member has undergone. This year went by remarkably fast, yet the skills we continue to develop are exponential in their own right.
The energy was contagious walking into the information session before anyone knew what the Queens TAMID chapter was going to be. We didn’t need much more than that short presentation- after a few minutes, we all wanted “in.” Shortly thereafter, we began an educational curriculum where we explored the business world through diverse perspectives. We quickly became a community that learned from one another and thrived off of the genuine desire to expand our fields of knowledge.
We then branched out into different hands-on projects that continue to challenge us intellectually, foster professional judgment, and inspire us to dive deeper into the Israeli economy. The next step for TAMID Group here at Queens College is to host the second annual Shark Tank Invitational. Featuring three of the most impressive, viable student-run ventures, this will be the biggest event of the semester. Each company will pitch investor sharks for up to $100,000 before an audience of ~500.
So, after this very fulfilling year, TAMID at Queens College has much to reflect upon and even more to look forward to!
